These statistics just mentioned combined with the fact that even though just as many women are currently university students as are men, the representation of those with a degree declines dramatically concerning those with postgraduate degrees like our Dianne Croteau earned and has made opportunities from. Women in Canada continue to make up less and less of university students enrolled in mathematics and physical sciences (just 30%), and even less in engineering and applied sciences (just 24%) (Women in Canada, 2005, page 13). The accomplishments Dianne has made and the resounding marks she is leaving on the engineering and physical science fields will be long remembered as fewer women are venturing to follow in her footsteps and with the leadership she utilizes in an field dominated by men.
